The Hunza Pure LED Path Light 1 Facet in stainless steel is a compact recessed ground light with a single light window, built to sit flush into paving, decking or a driveway edge and throw a clean, low, horizontal beam in one direction.
The Stainless Steel Finish
This variant is machined from marine grade 316 stainless steel, the grade Hunza reserve for their more corrosion resistant fittings. It has a cool, brushed silver tone rather than copper's warm colour, and holds its finish well in coastal or salt exposed gardens. A small Hunza "H" mark sits at the centre of the disc.
How It Works
- A single wide window is cut into the custom made TIR borosilicate glass lens, sending light out horizontally in one direction.
- The recessed body is 63.5mm in diameter and 68.5mm long, with a matching 63.5mm cut out size. The flange is 88mm across and around 20mm deep, supplied with a 1m cable.
- An integrated, replaceable Cree LED chip delivers 600 lumens (6 watts, 1050mA) at a CRI of 90+, in a choice of 2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K.
- Dimmable, provided a suitable dimmable driver is used.
- As a Pure LED fitting it runs on low voltage, wired in series with a remote driver rather than a simple transformer.
- IP67 rated, with the lens designed to keep dirt, mud, grass clippings and water away from the optics.
- 10 year warranty, 5 years on the LED.
Where It Works Best
The single direction beam makes this a good driveway marker light along a kerb or edge, a recessed path light beside a run of steps, or a border light along a straight stretch of paving where you only need light thrown one way. Because this stainless steel finish is rated to be driven over (see Good to Know), it is also a sound choice for lights set directly into a driveway surface itself, not just its edge.
Our Own Installations
The additional photographs on this page, of driveways, paths and courtyards lit at night, are Moonlight Design's own designs and installations rather than stock imagery. They show how a run of small recessed Hunza path lights reads once fitted along a real driveway or path edge. None of the five photographs are close up enough to confirm the exact metal finish, so refer to the studio photograph above for how the stainless steel itself looks.
Good to Know
- Usually ships in 2–3 days. If out of stock, allow 3–5 weeks.
- Returns are accepted within 14 days if the light is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.
- The LED chip is integrated and replaceable, so there is no separate bulb to source.
- Needs a compatible remote driver, which may need to be bought separately.
- We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
- This stainless steel finish is rated for vehicles up to between 1700kg and 3500kg to drive over it. The copper finish of this light is not drive over rated.
- Colours are indicative only. Physical swatches are available on request.
Questions People Ask
Can this light be driven over?
Yes. In stainless steel this fitting is rated for vehicles weighing between roughly 1700kg and 3500kg to drive over it. The copper version of this light is not suitable for driving over.
How is the 1 Facet different from the other Path Light versions?
The 1 Facet has one light window and throws light in a single direction. The 2, 3 and 4 Facet versions cut extra windows into the lens so light is thrown in two, three or four directions from one fitting.
What driver does it need?
It needs a compatible low voltage LED driver wired in series, not a plug in transformer. An electrician can specify the right driver for however many fittings are on the circuit.
Is the light source replaceable?
The Cree LED chip is integrated rather than a plug in bulb, but it is designed to be serviced and replaced rather than being sealed for life.
Is it suitable for coastal gardens?
Marine grade 316 stainless steel is chosen for its resistance to corrosion, which makes this finish a sensible choice near the coast.
