A fully cast solid bronze Pure LED lawn light

The Hunza Pure LED Lawn Light in cast solid bronze is solid bronze from the fluted body right up through the flange, not just a bronze ring on top of something else. It sits flush in turf and throws a narrow column of light straight up rather than spreading sideways, with the LED built into the fitting rather than fitted as a separate lamp.

Cast bronze, top to bottom

Every part of this fitting you can see, and the body buried beneath it, is solid bronze. That makes it the toughest version of the Pure LED Lawn Light Hunza makes: it copes with regular mowing, high soil acidity, salt spray and heavy fertiliser use without the finish chipping or wearing through. Left outdoors, the bronze will darken and develop a natural patina over time, which Hunza treats as part of the design rather than a fault.

How it works

Pure LED fittings use a Cree LED chip built into the fitting rather than a separate replaceable lamp, rated at 600 lumens from 6 watts with a CRI of 90 or higher. It's available with a choice of beam angle, 15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees, and colour temperature, from a warm 2200K up to a cooler 4000K, so it's worth deciding on both before you order. The recessed body runs 100mm long including the cable gland, set into a 146mm flange 13.5mm deep.

Because the LED is integrated, there's no separate bulb to buy, but the fitting must be wired in series with a Hunza remote driver, sold separately, rather than the parallel transformer used on the halogen version. It's dimmable if a suitable dimmable driver is used. The chip is serviceable rather than disposable if it ever needs attention. If you'd rather use a standard replaceable MR16 lamp, the halogen Cast Solid Bronze Lawn Light is built the same way but takes a separate bulb.

Suited to lawns that see regular mowing, high footfall, or ground conditions like heavy fertiliser or salt spray that would wear a lighter finish, where the buyer also wants the lower running cost and long life of an integrated LED over a replaceable halogen lamp.

Questions People Ask

Is the body solid bronze as well as the flange?
Yes. Unlike the standard Solid Bronze Pure LED Lawn Light, which pairs a bronze flange with a powder coated aluminium body, this cast version is solid bronze all the way through.

Can I change the colour temperature after buying it?
No, the colour temperature and beam angle are set by the LED chip you order, so decide on both before ordering rather than afterwards.

Does this need a transformer?
No. Pure LED fittings need a Hunza remote driver instead, wired in series rather than the parallel transformer setup used on the halogen version.

Can I mow over this light?
Yes, it's designed to take regular mowing without the finish chipping, which is why it's the version Hunza recommends for lawns with high soil acidity, salt content or heavy fertiliser use.

Is there a halogen version of this light?
Yes, the standard Cast Solid Bronze Lawn Light uses the same solid bronze construction but takes a separate, replaceable Hunza approved MR16 LED lamp instead of an integrated chip.
