Copper Light Washed Across the Wall

This Hunza Pure LED Flush Washer Recessed in copper is set into the ground and throws its light sideways onto a vertical surface instead of straight up. An asymmetric optic directs the light towards the surface you want to light, with little to no glare, so you see the wall and not the source. Hunza gives it a flush profile suited to pedestrian areas, and the copper flange can be walked on without damaging the luminaire. A mounting canister comes with it. It is a low voltage fitting with the LED board built in.

Solid Copper, Unvarnished

The flange is solid copper, left natural so that it ages from a salmon sheen through russet browns towards a blue green or grey green patina. That change is part of the appeal and not a defect. Hunza states that copper and aluminium are soft metals and not suitable for drive over applications, so keep this one to paths, borders and patios. If vehicles will cross it, choose the stainless steel flush washer, which Hunza rates for up to 2000kg at a maximum drive over speed of 10km/h (6 mph).

How It Works

• Asymmetric optic directing light at the desired surface, with a flush profile for pedestrian areas.
• A Cree field replaceable LED board gives 400 lumens at 700mA (6 watts), with CRI 80 or more at 3000K. The reflector is field replaceable.
• The step lens is 10mm extra clear, low iron, shatter resistant glass, and the luminaire carries an IK10 impact rating.
• Offered in 2200K, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K colour temperatures.
• Canister 100mm wide and 105mm deep, flange 110mm in diameter, cut out size 100mm, with 1m of water resistant cable.
• The PVC canister is cast into the ground, a vertical surface or concrete. The copper luminaire weighs 1.9kg.
• Wired in series at low voltage with a remote constant current LED driver, sold separately. Each fitting needs 9V DC at up to 700mA.
• Dimmable if you use a suitable dimmable driver.
• IP67 and a 10 year warranty on the copper body, with 5 years on the LED and electronics.

• At the foot of a garden wall to bring out its stonework
• Beside a terrace, where foot traffic is expected but vehicles are not

Questions People Ask

Can I drive over the copper washer?
No. Copper is a soft metal and is not suitable for drive over, though the flange can be walked on. Only the stainless steel version is rated for vehicles.

Will the copper flange change colour?
Yes. Solid copper is designed to patina, moving from a salmon sheen through brown and eventually to blue green or grey green.
