Two Spotlights on One Cross Bar, Planted in the Soil
The Hunza Pure LED Euro Twin Bar Light puts two small spotlights on a single cross bar that stands in the ground on a pair of spikes. Each head can be aimed on its own, so one can pick out a shrub while the other catches a tree trunk or a feature further along the bed. It is extra compact and made for places where the fitting should stay unobtrusive, even half hidden in the planting. This low voltage version has an integrated Cree LED chip in each head.
Solid Copper, Left to Weather
The body is solid copper rather than a plated or painted layer, and Hunza intends it to be left outdoors and allowed to patina. Fresh from the box it is bright and warm. In time it deepens to brown and then to a soft green, the way copper roofing does. If you want a finish that stays as it is, the same fitting is also made in 316 stainless steel.
How It Works
- Each arm swings through a full 360 degrees and tilts from 0 to 90 degrees, so the two beams can point in entirely different directions.
- Every head holds a replaceable Cree LED chip. The fitting is rated at 420 lumens from 4 watts at 700mA, with a CRI of 90 or more at 3000K.
- Pick your colour temperature (2200K, 2700K, 3000K or 4000K), beam angle (15, 25, 38 or 60 degrees) and a clear or frosted lens when you order.
- Each head has a body diameter of 44mm and length of 80mm, on a 38mm diameter bar 250mm long, with spikes 150mm long and 1m of cable supplied.
- Forward voltage is 12V for the whole fitting and 6V per head. It is wired in series, so it needs a remote LED driver, sold separately.
- Dimmable when used with a suitable dimmable driver.
- Rated IP66 and covered by a 10 year warranty, 5 years of it on the LED.
Where It Works Best
- Pushed into a border to light shrubs or ornamental grasses from two directions
- Beside a tree, with one head on the trunk and one on the canopy
- Along a hedge line where you want the fitting itself to disappear
- Anywhere the ground is soft enough to take the spikes
How We Plan and Install Hunza Lighting
We have worked with Hunza since 2003. We design lighting schemes for gardens, supply Hunza fittings and install them. The project photographs on our Design Service page show our own completed schemes, and explain how we plan a layout, draw it up and install it with NICEIC registered electricians. If you are weighing up where a twin spike light would earn its place, that page is a good place to begin.
Good to Know
- Made to order: usually ships within 2 to 3 days. If your specification is temporarily out of stock, allow 3 to 5 weeks.
- Returns accepted within 14 days if the fitting is unused, uninstalled and in its original packaging.
- The LED chips are integrated, so there is no separate lamp to buy, and the parts are serviceable.
- Needs a remote LED driver, sold separately. Wired in series, so your electrician should plan the circuit before installation.
- Solid copper will darken and patina outdoors. This is normal and not a fault.
- We recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
Questions People Ask
Can the two heads point in different directions?
Yes. Each head rotates 360 degrees and tilts from 0 to 90 degrees on its own arm, so they can light two separate features.
How does this fitting stay in the ground?
It stands on two spikes, each 150mm long, which are pushed into the soil beneath the cross bar.
Does the copper stay bright?
No. It is solid copper, which Hunza expects to darken and patina outdoors, moving from bright copper through brown toward green.
Do I need a driver?
Yes. This low voltage fitting is wired in series and needs a remote LED driver, sold separately.
