Warm walnut wood wraps the base of this Humble One table lamp, giving it a rich, natural grain that catches the light beautifully beside its exposed, replaceable bulb. As the very first design Humble ever made, One remains the simplest expression of what every lamp in the range still does, real light with no cable in sight.

Choosing Walnut

Walnut brings a darker, richer grain than oak, suiting a study, a bedside table or a living room with warmer wood tones already in place. For a paler wood in the same shape, the oak version is the alternative, or a fabric finish in the linen version.

How It Works

One charges on a Qi wireless dock or through the included USB-C cable, taking 4 to 6 hours for up to 140 hours of light on its lowest of three brightness levels. Its exposed E27 bulb is fully replaceable, and the lamp's modular, battery powered build means every part is designed to be maintained rather than thrown away if something wears out. Carrying an IP65 rating, it comes complete with the lamp, its LED bulb, a USB-C cable and a storage bag.

Where It Works Best

Being IP65 rated, One is suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, beside a bath, shower or sink, somewhere a mains lamp usually cannot go without an electrician (see our guide to bathroom lighting zones for what each zone allows). Its walnut base also suits a study desk or bedside table where a warm, exposed bulb glow is wanted without a cable trailing to a socket.

Made By Humble

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra and fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, with the aim of building a wireless alternative to candlelight. One was their first product, and the cordless, rechargeable, endlessly repairable idea it introduced still defines every lamp Humble makes.
