A Softer Wall Light With Nothing to Wire In

This black Bee wall light, paired with a frosted bulb, gives a softer, more diffused glow than its smoked counterpart, well suited to a bathroom, landing or bedroom that wants light without wiring. It clips onto a small wall plate with no cables in sight, so fitting it takes minutes rather than an electrician's visit.

Choosing Black and Frosted

Matte black keeps the fitting itself bold against a pale wall, and the frosted bulb spreads its light evenly rather than concentrating it in one spot, giving a wider, brighter wash than the smoked version. If a warmer, more contained glow is wanted in the same black finish, the smoked bulb is the alternative.

How It Works

An 8240mAh, 3.7V battery powers Bee, removed from its wall plate to charge and clipped back on once full, so there is no cable or socket near the fitting itself. Its E27 low voltage LED bulb runs at 0.5W, 2300K, with a CRI of 93, and three dimming levels give 170 to 220 hours per charge on low, 60 to 80 on medium, and 30 to 40 on high. The fitting measures Ø120 x H180mm, weighs 0.51kg, and is rated IP65.

Where It Works Best

Being IP65 rated, this Bee suits bathroom zones 1 and 2, beside a bath, shower or sink, without the rewiring a mains fitting would usually need (our bathroom lighting zones guide explains what each zone allows). The frosted bulb's wider spread also makes it a good fit for a hallway or landing that needs genuine, even light rather than atmosphere alone.

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra with fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe, with a clear goal, a wireless alternative to candlelight. Their first lamp, the Humble One, introduced the cordless, clip on format that every Bee wall light still uses.
