This beige Bee pairs with a smoked bulb for a warmer, moodier light than its frosted sibling, clipping onto a small wall plate with no cables or electrician involved. It suits a bathroom that wants atmosphere over bright, clinical light, though it works equally well in a hallway or bedroom.

Choosing Beige and Smoked

Beige keeps the fitting itself understated against most wall colours, while the smoked bulb tints the light amber and holds it closer to the fitting rather than spreading it wide. If you would rather have a brighter, more evenly spread glow, the same shape is also available with a frosted bulb.

How It Works

An 8240mAh, 3.7V battery powers Bee, charged away from the wall plate and clipped back on afterwards, so no cable or socket sits near the fitting. The E27 low voltage LED bulb is rated 0.5W at 2300K with a CRI of 93, and three dimming levels are built in, low for 170 to 220 hours per charge, medium for 60 to 80 hours, high for 30 to 40 hours. The fitting measures Ø120 x H180mm, weighs 0.51kg, and carries an IP65 rating.

Where It Works Best

Being IP65 rated, Bee is suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2, beside a bath, shower or sink, without needing an electrician to install a mains fitting (our guide to bathroom lighting zones explains what each zone allows). The smoked bulb's warmer tone also suits a bedroom wall or a snug reading spot where a softer light is wanted after dark.

Humble was founded in Amsterdam in 2018 by Jorren Teertstra together with fellow Dutch industrial design engineers Gert, Tom, Lenny and Douwe. The idea from the start was a wireless alternative to candlelight, and their first product, the Humble One, established the cordless approach that every Humble lamp since has carried forward.

Is the smoked bulb noticeably dimmer than frosted? It is tinted rather than dimmer, the smoked glass holds the light closer and warmer rather than reducing the LED's actual output.

Does the bulb need replacing often? The LED source is rated for long use under normal conditions, and replacement bulbs are available separately if the bulb itself is ever damaged.
