A neatly stepped, square shade with a tailored finish

Taunton is a compact wall light from Hudson Valley Lighting, built around a square linen shade with a stepped, layered edge that gives an otherwise simple silhouette a more considered, tailored look. Its right angled proportions make it a good fit for pairing symmetrically either side of a feature.

Aged brass finish with a linen shade

The frame and backplate are finished in aged brass, a warm, softly burnished metal tone that suits dark paint, panelling and traditional joinery. The shade itself is linen fabric, stretched over a steel frame to give an even, softly diffused glow rather than a hard edged pool of light.

How it works

Taunton takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 60W (not supplied), positioned inside the linen shade. It measures around 43.8cm in height and 11.4cm in width, projecting about 12.7cm from the wall, and weighs 1.4kg. As a mains wired fitting, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a warm accent light is wanted, for example either side of a fireplace, headboard or mirror, or spaced evenly along a hallway wall. The aged brass finish and linen shade sit comfortably in traditional and transitional schemes built around warm materials.
