A fully adjustable swing arm sconce with a plain conical shade

Signature No.1 is a swing arm wall light from Hudson Valley's Classics collection, developed in collaboration with interior designer Mark D. Sikes. The arm swings and extends freely from the wall, so the fitting can be angled exactly where it's needed rather than fixed in one position, and it's topped with a smooth, plain conical shade.

Polished nickel finish with a plain cone shade

The arm and backplate are finished in polished nickel, a cool, reflective tone that suits both classic and contemporary interiors. The shade is a smooth, plain cone in soft off white, giving a warm, even glow through the fabric rather than a hard edged beam.

How it works

Signature No.1 takes a single E14 bulb, maximum 40W (not supplied), positioned inside the shade. It measures around 28.6cm in height, 20.3cm in width, and projects roughly 24.1cm from the wall at full extension, thanks to its adjustable swing arm. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its adjustable arm makes it well suited to reading positions in living rooms and bedrooms, as well as dining rooms and hallways where a directional accent light is useful. It works particularly well beside a bed, armchair or desk where the light needs to be pulled closer or angled away.
