Shaw brings together an elongated, fluted glass diffuser and a broad candlecup finished with a knurled texture, giving the fitting a tactile quality that's easy to notice up close. The fluting in the glass breaks up the light as it passes through, adding a bit of texture to what would otherwise be a plain glow.

The candlecup is finished in aged brass with a fine knurled pattern worked into the metal, a detail that rewards a closer look. The glass diffuser itself is fluted along its length, softening and texturing the light rather than letting it read as a flat, even glow.

How it works

Shaw takes a single E27 tubular (Type T) bulb rated up to 40W (not supplied), sitting within the fluted glass diffuser. It measures around 39cm in height and 6cm in width, projecting about 10cm from the wall, and weighs 1.4kg. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its compact scale suits kitchens and dining rooms, particularly in pairs flanking a mirror, a run of cabinetry or either side of a window, wherever a smaller, tactile accent light is wanted.
