Two clean linear glass diffusers set into a compact, bevelled mount

Pylon is a two light wall sconce from Hudson Valley Lighting built around two slim, elongated glass diffusers, one above and one below a neat, bevel cut central mount. The glass does the work here, fluted and etched on the inside while staying clear and smooth on the outside, so the light reads textured and layered rather than flat.

Polished nickel finish with clear glass

The central mount and slim backplate are finished in polished nickel, a bright, cool metal tone that suits contemporary kitchens and dining spaces. Each glass diffuser is clear, with its pattern worked into the inner surface, so it stays crisp and linear rather than heavily ornamented.

How it works

Pylon takes two E27 bulbs, each rated up to 40W (not supplied), one inside each of the two diffusers, for a linear run of light along the wall. It measures around 66.7cm in height and 7cm in width, projecting about 7cm from the wall, and weighs 1.4kg. As a mains wired fitting, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

It's designed for kitchens and dining rooms, for example above a run of cabinetry, beside a mirror, or flanking an island or dining wall where a slim, linear accent is wanted rather than a bulky fitting. Its compact backplate and vertical form also suit narrower wall spaces where a wider sconce wouldn't fit comfortably.
