Honed marble and black brass, in a compact, contemporary sconce

Predock is a two light wall sconce built from a slim black brass frame set with a single honed nero madera marble cylinder, lit from openings at both the top and bottom. Light passes through the stone itself rather than a separate glass or fabric diffuser, giving the fitting a solid, architectural quality that reads as considerably more substantial than its compact size suggests.

The frame is finished in black brass, a dark, matte metal that contrasts sharply against the pale veining of the marble cylinder. As a natural stone, the marble will vary slightly in colour and veining piece to piece, so the fitting you receive won't match exactly to the next one or to any photography shown, which is expected of the material rather than a fault.

How it works

Predock uses an integrated 8W LED lighting the cylinder from both ends, producing 225 lumens at a 3000K colour temperature with a CRI of 90, and it's triac dimmable when used with a compatible dimmer switch. It measures around 25.4cm in height, 6.4cm in width, and projects roughly 8.9cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Predock suits hallways, kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms where a smaller, contemporary accent light is wanted, for example either side of a doorway or spaced along a corridor. The dark finish and pale stone work particularly well against darker paint or stone surfaces.
