Latham is a large pendant from Hudson Valley Lighting built around a generous glass globe, capped with a dark dome banded in a contrasting metal tone at the top. The dual tone finish gives it more depth than a single flat metal tone would, while the rounded glass globe below keeps the silhouette feeling soft despite its size.

The dome cap here is finished in a dark, deliberately weathered bronze, banded with warmer brass toned highlights where it meets the glass. The globe itself is glass, giving an even, gently diffused glow rather than a sharp point of light, and its rounded shape balances the darker, more angular cap above it.

How it works

Latham takes a single E27 bulb, maximum 20W (not supplied), positioned within the glass globe for a soft, ambient glow. It measures around 43cm in height and 37cm in diameter, with an adjustable drop ranging from roughly 53cm to 183cm, so it can be set for a low ceiling or hung further down over a table or island. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its size and single glass globe make Latham a good fit for kitchens and dining rooms, whether hung centrally over a table or in a row above a kitchen island. The adjustable drop means it can be tailored to different ceiling heights, and the dual tone bronze and brass finish suits both traditional and more transitional interiors.
