A classic candle sconce reworked entirely in cast metal

Islip takes the traditional shape of a candle sconce, a bobeche and candle sleeve arm, and recasts the whole fixture in a single, uniformly finished metal rather than mixing materials. Stepped detailing at the backplate and the base of its thick, rounded arm gives the piece a machined, considered quality up close.

Aged brass finish with a faux silk sleeve

The arm, backplate and bobeche are finished in aged brass, a warm, softly burnished metal tone that suits dark paint, panelling and traditional joinery. The candle sleeve is wrapped in faux silk, a subtle textile detail that softens the otherwise fully cast metal look.

How it works

Islip takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 60W (not supplied), set within the candle sleeve for a classic, candle like glow. It measures around 37.5cm in height and 12.1cm in width, projecting about 14cm from the wall, and weighs a light 0.5kg. As a mains wired fitting, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a traditional candle sconce silhouette is wanted, for example either side of a fireplace or mirror, or spaced along a staircase or hallway wall. Its classic proportions make it a natural fit for period and traditional interiors built around brass and warm metal tones.
