Huntington is a linear wall sconce from Hudson Valley Lighting, built with a long black shade capped at both ends by metal capped milk glass tubes. The combination gives it a layered, almost architectural profile rather than the single glowing shade you get on a typical sconce.

Aged old bronze finish with soft black accents

The metal caps and backplate are finished in aged old bronze, a dark, warm toned metal that pairs well with black ironmongery and darker interiors. The central shade is soft black, framed at either end by the glowing glass tubes, giving the fixture a clear sense of direction along its slim, linear profile.

How it works

Huntington uses a 14W integrated LED rated at 900 lumens with a warm 2700K colour temperature and a CRI of 90, so it renders colours accurately rather than casting a flat, artificial light. It's TRIAC dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch. It measures around 67cm in height and 15cm in width, projecting about 8cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its slim, linear profile suits living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms and hallways where a vertical accent is wanted, for example either side of a mirror, beside a doorway, or as a pair flanking a fireplace. The aged old bronze and black combination works well in darker, more contemporary schemes as much as traditional ones.
