Gansevoort is a sculptural floor lamp from Hudson Valley Lighting, built from intersecting rectangular sections of brass set at different depths and finished in a gradient that shifts from dark to light along its length. Integrated LEDs light the metal itself, so the ombre effect becomes part of the light source rather than just a surface finish.

Gradient brass finish

The brass here runs through a graduated, ombre finish, moving from a darker, almost blackened tone at one end to a bright, polished brass at the other. That transition is designed in, so while the exact tonal balance can vary slightly piece to piece, the overall graduated effect is consistent. It pairs well with warm wood tones and other brass or bronze fittings nearby.

How it works

Gansevoort uses a 28W integrated LED rated at 600 lumens with a CRI of 90, so colours read accurately under it, and it's TRIAC dimmable via the full range dimmer built into the plug. It runs on an 8 foot cord, so it simply plugs into a standard socket rather than needing to be wired in. It measures around 78cm in height with a 20cm wide base.

Where it works best

It suits living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a freestanding sculptural light is wanted, for example beside a sofa or reading chair, in a corner that needs a warm accent, or as a statement piece in an otherwise plain room.
