An oversized arm and a diagonal cut, reworking the classic wall torch

Fredonia takes the traditional wall mounted torch shape and pares it back into something more minimal, built around a stepped metal backplate and a long, elongated arm. The arm ends in a diagonal cut that exposes the metal's diamond shaped profile, a small detail that gives an otherwise simple fixture some real presence.

Aged brass finish with a faux silk shade

The backplate and arm are finished in aged brass, a warm, softly burnished tone, and topped with a generously sized faux silk shade that balances the length of the arm below it. The shade's proportions are part of the design, large enough to feel considered rather than an afterthought.

How it works

Fredonia takes a single E14 bulb, maximum 40W (not supplied), diffused through the faux silk shade. It measures around 58cm in height and 14cm in width, projecting roughly 9.5cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its size and simplicity suit living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a single, confident wall light is wanted rather than a pair, for example beside a bed, at the end of a hallway, or as a feature beside a fireplace. The aged brass finish sits comfortably in traditional and transitional schemes.
