A minimalist metal cage, built around a frosted glass cylinder

Eldridge is a pendant built around an open, minimalist cage frame, with a frosted glass cylinder inside that softens the light while still letting the shape of the lamp show through the metalwork. It's offered in both conical and dome shaped versions, hung from a hook and loop chain rather than a plain cable, which gives it a slightly more industrial, hand assembled feel.

The cage frame and chain are finished in aged brass, a warm, softly burnished tone that works well against darker walls and traditional joinery. The glass cylinder inside is frosted rather than clear, giving a softer, more even glow than a bare bulb would.

How it works

Eldridge takes a single E27 bulb, maximum 13W (not supplied), housed within the frosted glass cylinder inside the cage frame. It measures around 56cm in height and 39cm in width, with a minimum drop of roughly 64cm and a maximum drop of around 193cm, so it can be hung at different heights. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its cage design suits living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and staircases, wherever a single, characterful pendant is wanted rather than a cluster. It works particularly well above a table or landing where the cage and softly glowing glass can be appreciated from below.
