Hudson Valley Dunkirk 6 Light Semi Flush - Polished Nickel

Dunkirk is a semi flush fitting from Hudson Valley Lighting, its wire stems radiating from a central hub and tipped with faceted crystal beads that catch and scatter light across the whole fixture. Six candelabra bulbs sit visible at the centre, lighting the surrounding crystal from within rather than shining outward on their own, so the effect reads as a glittering, layered burst.

The hub and wire stems are finished in polished nickel, a bright, cool toned metal that works well against contemporary schemes and mixed metal interiors. The crystal itself is cut and faceted glass, arranged in beaded clusters at the end of each stem, so each fixture has its own particular sparkle depending on how the beads catch the light in your room.

How it works

Dunkirk takes 6 x E14 candelabra bulbs, maximum 40W each (not supplied), positioned at the centre of the burst where the crystal beads catch and scatter the light. It measures around 39cm in height and 76cm in diameter, and wires directly into the mains, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

As a semi flush fitting it suits rooms where ceiling height is limited, hallways, dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms among them, though it's substantial enough to hold its own as a central feature over a dining table or in an entrance hall. It's a good option if you want a genuine statement piece rather than a background light.
