Hudson Valley Dooley 1 Light Wall Sconce Light - Polished Nickel

A classic sconce shape updated with a linen shade

Dooley takes a traditional wall light silhouette, a shade projecting from a rectangular backplate, and updates it with a Belgian linen shade in place of glass or metal. The result is a softer, more contemporary reading of a familiar form.

Polished nickel finish with a linen shade

The backplate is finished in polished nickel, a cool, reflective metal tone that suits contemporary and transitional rooms alike. The shade is genuine linen, so its surface will carry the small natural variation in texture and tone typical of a fabric material.

How it works

It takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W (not supplied), diffused through the linen shade for a calm, even glow rather than a direct point of light. Dooley measures around 32cm in height and 11cm in width, projecting about 12cm from the wall, with the shade itself around 13cm high and 6cm wide, and weighs 1kg. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its compact size and soft output suit living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways as an accent light, either side of a bed, flanking a mirror, or spaced along a hallway wall. The polished nickel finish and linen shade sit well in both traditional and more contemporary interiors.
