Hudson Valley Dooley 1 Light Wall Sconce Light - Aged Old Bronze

A classic sconce shape softened with a linen shade

Dooley updates a familiar wall sconce silhouette with a Belgian linen shade extending from a simple rectangular backplate, trading a hard glass or metal diffuser for fabric and a softer, more domestic feeling light as a result.

Aged old bronze finish

This version is finished in aged old bronze, a warm, deliberately weathered metal tone that works well against dark paint, panelling and traditional joinery, and pairs comfortably with the linen shade's neutral tone.

How it works

It takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W (not supplied), diffused through the linen shade for a gentle, calm glow rather than a direct light source. Dooley measures around 32cm in height, 11cm in width and projects about 12cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its compact scale and soft light suit living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where an accent rather than a primary light source is wanted, for example either side of a bed, flanking a mirror, or along a hallway.

About Hudson Valley Lighting

Hudson Valley Lighting is an American decorative lighting brand that likes to take an ordinary sconce shape and rework it in a softer material. Dooley, also available in polished nickel, is a straightforward example of that idea in fabric and metal.

Questions People Ask

Does the Dooley wall sconce come with a light bulb?
No, a bulb is not included. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W, so you will need to add one when you order.

Is professional installation required for this sconce?
Yes, Dooley is a mains wired fitting rather than a plug in lamp, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician such as a registered NICEIC installer.

Can I return the Dooley sconce in aged old bronze if I change my mind?
This piece is made to order by Hudson Valley Lighting, so it is not eligible for return once placed. It is worth checking the aged old bronze finish, the dimensions and the E14 bulb requirement carefully before ordering.

Which rooms is this sconce suitable for?
With an IP20 rating, Dooley is designed for dry to occasionally damp indoor spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, rather than bathrooms or other wet areas.

Will the linen shade look the same on every fixture?
Because the shade is made from Belgian linen rather than glass or metal, small variations in texture and tone are a natural part of the fabric and do not affect how the fixture performs.
