Danes is a single arm wall light where a hand poured Piastra glass oval sits behind a ring of vintage gold leaf, so the metal frames the glass rather than covering it. The glass has a naturally bubbled texture, translucent enough that the bulb inside is gently visible through it once lit.

The surround is finished in vintage gold leaf, a warm, slightly antiqued gold tone that reads as jewellery like rather than heavily metallic. Paired with the bubbled glass shade, it gives the fixture a handmade quality, each piece carrying the same delicate texture but never perfectly uniform.

How it works

Danes takes a single E14 bulb, maximum 60W (not supplied), set within the glass oval so the light diffuses through the bubbled texture rather than shining as a hard point source. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

It works well in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a soft accent light is wanted, for example flanking a mirror, either side of a doorway, or spaced along a hallway wall. The gold leaf and glass combination suits interiors with a bit of glamour to them.
