Hudson Valley Coltrane 8 Light Pendant - Aged Brass

A diamond shaped pendant split between textured metal and clear acrylic

Coltrane takes the diamond, a shape with an enduring appeal whatever you make of the claim that diamonds themselves last forever, and splits it into two distinct halves. The upper section is finished in textured black metal, the lower in clear acrylic, with a plated band running around all four sides where the two meet.

Aged brass detailing

The plated band and fixture detailing are finished in aged brass, a warm tone that marks the join between the black metal and clear acrylic sections and stops the two materials feeling disconnected from each other.

How it works

It takes eight E14 bulbs rated up to 25W each (not supplied), set within the diamond form so light reads through the clear acrylic lower half. Coltrane measures around 73cm in height and 38cm across, with a drop adjustable from roughly 80cm up to 222cm, and weighs close to 9.5kg, so ceiling fixing should be checked before installing. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Its scale and graphic shape suit kitchens and dining rooms as a genuine centrepiece, for example above an island or dining table where its faceted form can be seen from more than one angle.
