Bowery's "A" sconce pairs a slender steel arm with a small cylindrical linen shade, giving a single point of soft, diffused light rather than a bright direct source. It's part of the wider Bowery family, a range built around a shared use of texture, in this case a fabric shade rather than glass or stone.

Aged old bronze finish with a linen shade

The arm and backplate are finished in aged old bronze, a deliberately weathered, dark metal tone that suits traditional and transitional rooms built around warm woods and darker paint colours. The shade itself is linen, so its texture and tone will show the very slight natural variation you'd expect from a fabric material.

How it works

It takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 8W (not supplied), housed inside the linen shade for a gentle, glowing effect rather than a hard point of light. The fixture measures around 55cm in height and 13cm in width, projecting about 15cm from the wall, with the shade itself measuring roughly 13cm high and 6cm wide. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

This sconce suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a soft accent light is wanted, either side of a bed, flanking a fireplace, or spaced along a hallway wall. Its aged old bronze finish and linen shade sit comfortably in traditional and transitional interiors.
