Hudson Valley Borland 2 Light Wall Sconce Light - Polished Nickel

A sunburst sconce with a smooth central medallion

Borland reinterprets the sunburst mirror, a French and Belgian decorating motif that became a fixture of rooms wanting a dynamic, faceted accent, as a two light wall sconce. Two angled arms rise from a radiating sunburst medallion to a pair of cylindrical white fabric shades, giving the piece a graphic, symmetrical presence on the wall.

Polished nickel finish

Borland is finished in polished nickel, a cool, reflective metal tone that catches the light along its radiating arms and suits contemporary and glamorous interiors alike. At the centre of the sunburst sits a smooth, pale circular disc, a quieter contrast to the metal rays around it.

How it works

It takes two E14 bulbs rated up to 40W each (not supplied), diffused through the cylindrical white fabric shades for a soft, upward glow. Borland measures around 46cm in height and 34cm in width, projecting about 15cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

The sunburst shape and reflective finish suit living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a decorative, statement piece is wanted rather than a purely functional light, for example above a console table or as a pair flanking a fireplace.
