Hudson Valley Barron 1 Light Pendant - Aged Brass

A Danish inspired pendant with tiered black and opal glass

Barron reworks a solution developed by Danish architects in the early twentieth century for softening the glare of electric light: a flat black disc sitting over a tiered white opal glass diffuser, rather than a single open bulb. In this pendant version, that shade hangs centrally from a slim ceiling rose, keeping the light soft and out of the eyeline.

Aged brass finish with black textured glass

The shade's disc is finished in a finely textured black on the outside, with a warmer aged brass tone showing at the fittings. It's a pairing that reads well whether the room leans traditional or contemporary, and the brass detailing keeps the piece from feeling too severe.

How it works

Barron pendant takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W (not supplied), diffused through the tiered opal glass. It measures around 14cm in height and 20cm in diameter, with a drop adjustable between roughly 26cm and 163cm, so it can be set to suit different ceiling heights. As a mains wired fitting, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

With its compact scale and warm, diffused output, it works well over a kitchen island, breakfast bar or dining table, either on its own or spaced in multiples along a run.
