Hudson Valley Barkley 2 Light Wall Sconce Light - Aged Brass

Barkley pairs two vertical alabaster cylinders with a central aged brass band, so light glows both up and down from a single wall mounted fixture. That up and down spread gives a soft, even wash of light, the kind of gentle, shadow free glow suited to a bathroom mirror or vanity area.

Aged brass finish with natural alabaster

This version is finished in aged brass, a warm, lightly burnished tone that pairs naturally with marble, warm stone and traditional sanitaryware. The two alabaster cylinders are genuine natural stone, so expect variation in colour and veining between pieces, no two will match exactly, which is part of the appeal of a real stone material rather than a defect.

How it works

Barkley takes two E27 bulbs rated up to 40W each (not supplied), one inside each alabaster cylinder, diffused for soft, indirect light rather than a harsh point source. It measures around 60cm in height and 13cm in width, projecting roughly 9.5cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Barkley is designed as a bath and vanity fixture, mounted vertically either side of a mirror in a bathroom or dressing area, though it also works well in a hallway or dressing room where soft, upward and downward lighting is wanted. This fitting carries an IP20 rating, meaning it's built for indoor use in dry to occasionally damp conditions rather than direct exposure to water, so its exact position relative to a bath, shower or basin needs to respect UK bathroom zoning rules. We'd recommend having your electrician confirm the intended location falls outside a zone requiring a higher IP rating before installing near a water source.
