Hudson Valley Amherst Small 1 Light Wall Sconce Light - Aged Brass

An elongated torch form finished in aged brass, with crystal detail and a soft fabric shade

Amherst Small is a single arm wall light from Hudson Valley Lighting, built around a tall, tapered torch shaped arm in aged brass. A crystal bobeche circles the base of the shade, adding a faceted glint against the fabric above, a small contemporary touch on an otherwise traditional silhouette.

Aged brass with a white fabric shade

The frame is finished in aged brass, a warm, slightly burnished metal tone that works well against dark walls, panelling and traditional joinery. The shade itself is a white fabric drum, which softens the light and keeps the glow gentle rather than direct, while the crystal bobeche accents catch the light as it passes.

How it works

Amherst Small takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W (not supplied), positioned centrally within the fabric shade for an even, ambient glow. It measures around 47.6cm in height, 12.7cm in width and projects about 14cm from the wall. As a mains wired fitting, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where a single accent light is wanted, for example beside a bed, either side of a mirror, or spaced along a hallway or staircase wall. The aged brass and crystal detailing sit comfortably in traditional interiors built around warm metals and classic forms.

About Hudson Valley Lighting

Hudson Valley Lighting is an American decorative lighting brand that reworks familiar forms, library lights, lanterns and classic wall sconces among them, using warm metals, sculptural glass and natural materials. Questions People Ask

Does the Amherst Small come with a light bulb?
No, this wall light takes a single E14 bulb rated up to 40W, and the bulb itself is not included, so you will need to source one separately before installing the fitting.

Do I need an electrician to fit this wall light?
Yes, the Amherst Small is a mains wired fitting rather than a plug in lamp, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician, ideally one registered with NICEIC.

Can I use this wall light in a bathroom?
This fitting is rated IP20, which means it is designed for dry to occasionally damp indoor spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms and hallways rather than bathrooms, so it should not be installed anywhere it could be exposed to direct moisture or splashing.

What is the shade made from?
The shade is a white faux silk fabric drum that sits above a crystal bobeche, while the tall torch shaped arm underneath is finished in aged brass steel.

Can I return this light after ordering?
Because the Amherst Small is made to order by Hudson Valley Lighting, it is not eligible for return once an order has been placed, so it is worth checking the finish, dimensions and bulb requirements before you buy.
