The Ribbed Ceramic Pillar Wall Light in white is a compact wall fixture with a deeply grooved, pillar shaped ceramic body that throws light both up and down the wall at once, creating a soft glow with real texture and shadow play. Grouped in a run along a hallway wall or flanking a bathroom mirror, a few of these together read less like individual lights and more like a considered architectural detail.

The white ceramic finish

This variant is fired in a crisp, baked in white with a matte surface, so the ribbing catches light without any shine or reflection. The result feels calm and clean rather than clinical, and it sits comfortably alongside pale plaster, white metro tile, oak, or brushed brass fittings. Because the colour is so neutral, it works equally well as a quiet backdrop in a minimalist scheme or as a repeated, sculptural motif when several are installed in a row.

How it works

Each fitting takes two G9 bulbs, one at either end of the ceramic body, which cast light upward and downward simultaneously for a soft, ambient wash rather than direct task lighting. Bulbs are not included, so you will need to source two G9 bulbs with a maximum wattage of 28w each, and the fixture is dimmable if paired with a compatible dimmer switch and bulbs. This is a hardwired 240v mains fixture, double insulated and rated Class 2, so it needs to be wired in and installed by a qualified electrician rather than simply plugged in. It is operated via an external wall switch rather than a built in switch on the fitting itself.

Where it works best

Its IP44 rating means this light is suitable for bathrooms, including zone 2, as well as covered outdoor spaces such as a porch or an outdoor dining area, in addition to indoor hallways, landings, and living rooms. It is particularly effective used in multiples, spaced evenly along a wall to create rhythm and ambient light without relying on a single central pendant or spotlights.
