The Opal Disk Wall Light in Sand pairs a softly toned metal fixture with a smooth opal glass shade, giving off a warm, even glow rather than a hard point of light. The sand finish

Sand sits between the warmth of cream and the coolness of grey, a soft, muted tone that shifts subtly with the daylight around it. It is a quieter alternative to brass or charcoal grey in the same range, and works easily against white or pale painted walls, warm wood tones, and natural materials like limestone or linen. Because the shade itself is opal glass, the light it throws stays soft and diffused whatever the wall colour behind it.

How it works

This is a hardwired 240v fixture, so it needs to be wired into your home's electrics rather than plugged in, and installation should be carried out by a qualified or registered electrician. It takes a single G9 bulb (not included), up to 28w, and is compatible with dimmer switches if you want to adjust the level of light. The opal glass shade sits over the fixture and diffuses the bulb into an ambient, even glow rather than a visible point source.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, this light is rated for splashback zones such as zone 2 of a bathroom, so it can be mounted near (though not directly over) a bath or shower, as well as anywhere indoors. It works well as bathroom mirror lighting, as a hallway or landing light, or as a soft bedside or reading wall light where you want warmth without glare. Because the fixture is compact, it also suits smaller walls or narrow spaces where a larger sconce would feel heavy.
