This is the two light version of Hinkley's Masthead wall light, giving more scale and output than the single light design while keeping the same contrasting Heritage Brass and Black finish and nautical inspired transitional styling. Heritage Brass and Black finish

Steel forms the body of this fitting, finished in contrasting Heritage Brass and Black, with clear glass shades over each of the two lights. The interplay of warm brass and matte black across two lights rather than one gives this piece a bolder, more graphic presence than the single light version, and it pairs well with brushed brass taps, black ironmongery or a traditional panelled wall.

How it works

Each of the two arms takes an E27 bulb, and bulbs are not supplied, so you'll need to add two to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This fitting is Class I and wall mounted, and may need some simple assembly on arrival. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, this fitting is suitable for use in bathroom lighting zones and regulations zones 2 and outside zone, so it works well flanking a bathroom mirror as well as in a hallway, bedroom or living space where its wider two light spread can do more than a single sconce.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley's story starts in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. The Masthead name nods to that same nautical language, even though this two light version is built for indoor use and sheltered bathroom zones. After Phil died in 1937, Stanley Wiedemer bought the business outright and moved his family from Kansas City to Cleveland to run it, and his grandson Rick Wiedemer went on to spend fifty years leading the company from 1969 onward. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for UK homes, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
