The frame is steel finished in Heritage Brass, a warm, aged brass tone that works well against dark walls, natural wood or brighter painted schemes. The five clear seeded glass globes carry a soft, bubbled texture that catches the light differently from every angle, giving each one a slightly handmade look. How it works

This is a semi-flush chandelier, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging low, which suits rooms with limited headroom. It takes 5 x E14 LED bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to add these to your order. The fitting is dimmable if dimmable LED bulbs are fitted. It is wired to Class I electrical standards. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. When Phil became ill in the mid 1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and after Phil's death in 1937 Stanley bought the rest and moved his family to Cleveland to run it. Stanley's grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the business in 1969 and stayed for fifty years, long enough to see the company grow from those first fourteen lanterns into wide, statement indoor pieces like this Hollis chandelier. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's American designs for UK homes, converting fittings such as this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
