This Hollis wall light takes the collection's 1920s Art Deco character and scales it up to three arms, each holding a clear seeded glass shade on a Heritage Brass steel frame. It spans 60.6cm wide across the wall, wider than a typical single arm wall light, so it reads as a real statement piece rather than a small accent light. Heritage Brass and seeded glass

The Heritage Brass finish gives the steel frame a warm, aged brass tone that works well against painted walls, tiled bathrooms and dark woodwork alike. Each of the three shades is clear seeded glass, with the gentle bubbled texture that runs through the whole Hollis range, so the light passes through softly rather than glaring straight out.

How it works

This fitting takes three E14 bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add three to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. It mounts to a standard wall box. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's wired to Class I, which means it requires an earth connection.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, it's suitable for use in bathroom zone 2 and the outside zone, so it can go above a bathroom mirror or vanity as well as in a hallway, living room or stairwell. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley's own history stretches back almost as far as the Art Deco period this Hollis design borrows from. Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, starting out as a small outdoor lantern maker with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. The Wiedemer family took over not long after, first Stanley in the 1930s and then three more generations after him, and it's that same family that has run the business ever since. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
