The Hollis 2 Light Wall Light brings the rounded, faceted lines of 1920s Art Deco design into a modern wall fitting. This two light version doubles the glow of the single shade look, holding two clear seeded glass shades on a black steel frame for a fuller spread of light wherever you need it.

The frame is steel finished in black, giving it a strong, neutral base that works equally well in a period hallway or a contemporary bathroom. The two clear seeded glass shades add a soft, textured finish to the light they cast, so the glow feels gentle rather than sharp.

How it works

This wall light takes two E14 LED bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add two to your order. It fixes to a standard wall box for mounting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's wired to Class I, which means it needs an earth connection. Choose dimmable E14 LED bulbs if you'd like to dim it, since dimming depends on the bulbs used rather than the fitting itself.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, the Hollis 2 Light Wall Light is suitable for bathroom zone 2 and the outside zone under the bathroom lighting zones and regulations. It works just as well in a hallway, living room or bedroom, particularly where a pair of lights either side of a mirror, door or bed gives a more even spread than a single fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. The Hollis draws on the Art Deco years that followed soon after, a style that shaped American design through the 1920s and into the 1930s. When Phil became ill with tuberculosis, he sold half the company to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and Stanley bought the rest of the business after Phil died in 1937, moving his own family to Cleveland to run it. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
