Francoise is made from mild steel and finished in Burnished Brass, a warm, slightly antiqued gold tone that suits a traditional bathroom scheme. The frosted ribbed glass shades diffuse the light and add texture, pairing well with brass tapware, freestanding baths and traditional vanity units.

How it works

Three G9 LED lamps of 3W each sit behind the frosted ribbed glass shades, spreading even light across a mirror or vanity area rather than one bright spot. Bulbs are not supplied, so you will need to add G9 LED bulbs to your order. The fitting is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are used. It is rated Class I, which means it requires a proper earth connection. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started the company in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 outdoor lanterns. A fitting built for the specific demands of a UK bathroom is a long way from that first catalogue, and it exists today because of a later chapter in the brand's history. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like Francoise to 220 to 240V wiring and giving them full CE certification. That partnership is what allows a design rooted in an American lighting company to meet British bathroom zone requirements.
