Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, this fitting is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and outside zone, as well as hallways, landings and any other room where a coordinated, vintage inspired flush light suits the scheme. Being a flush fitting, it also suits rooms with lower ceiling height, where a projecting fitting would not work as well.

The story behind Feiss

Feiss dates back to 1955, when Murray Feiss opened a small lighting business in the South Bronx, New York, built around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases and finished with shades his mother, Rose, hand sewed. Over three generations, that business grew into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, its range eventually spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings. The Feiss design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co., and Elstead Lighting has represented the brand across the UK and Europe since 2012, adapting collections including Paulson for 220 to 240V electrical systems. Paulson leans on a vintage inspired silhouette, its glass tube shades built from rows of individual clear glass rods rather than a single moulded shade, a detail that sets it apart from Feiss's more classically ornamented ranges.
