The story behind Feiss

Paulson's glass tube shades, built from rows of individual clear glass rods rather than a single moulded shade, give it a vintage inspired silhouette that stands apart from Feiss's more classically ornamented ranges. That range sits within a company history stretching back to 1955, when Murray Feiss began wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases in the South Bronx, his mother Rose finishing each one with a hand sewn shade. The family business grew over three generations into one of America's best known decorative lighting names, spanning chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and today the Feiss design heritage sits within Visual Comfort & Co. In the UK and Europe, Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss since 2012, adapting its designs for 220 to 240V electrical systems.
