Feiss Galena 2 Light Half Lantern - Sable

A flatter half lantern for tighter wall positions

Rather than a full, boxy lantern shape, the Galena 2 light half lantern uses a flat backed design that sits closer to the wall than the rest of the range. It keeps the same seeded glass and clean lines as the wider collection, while projecting less from the wall, useful wherever depth is limited.

Sable finish

The Sable finish has a deep, near black tone that reads as a quiet, neutral backdrop, letting the seeded glass and the flatter shape of this fitting stand out rather than the metalwork itself.

How it works

This fitting does not come with a bulb, so you will need to add two to your order. Moonlight Design recommends that all lighting is installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and that applies especially outdoors, where the fitting needs to be wired and sealed correctly against the weather.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, its flatter profile suits spots where clearance is tight, beside a front door under a porch canopy, in a narrow passageway or a side entrance, where a deeper lantern would stick out further than you would like.

The story behind Feiss

Feiss began life in 1955, when Murray Feiss set up a small lighting business in the South Bronx built around imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, with shades hand sewn by his mother, Rose. Over three generations, that family business grew into one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, covering chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, and its design heritage now sits within Visual Comfort & Co. In the UK and Europe, Elstead Lighting has represented Feiss since 2012, adapting collections such as Galena for 220 to 240V electrics. Galena itself takes a pared back approach to the outdoor lantern, built around clean lines and seeded glass rather than heavier ironwork or period detailing.
