The English Bridle lamp post is the tallest fitting in the collection, a traditional three light post lantern built to stand at a gateway or mark the start of a drive the way a period coach lamp would. Its paned frame and clear seeded glass sit at the top of a full height post, giving it the presence of a proper garden lamp post rather than a low level path light.

Black finish

Black gives the lamp post real presence, its dark silhouette reading clearly against a garden or driveway by day as well as providing a warm point of light after dark.

How it works

This lamp post takes three bulbs, none of which are included. It is the tallest fitting in the collection, so a secure, level base and properly buried, weatherproofed cabling matter even more than with the shorter pedestals, and we would strongly recommend a registered NICEIC electrician handles the full installation.

The story behind Feiss

A South Bronx workshop in 1955 is where the Feiss story begins, with Murray Feiss wiring imported European porcelain figurines into lamp bases and his mother Rose hand sewing the shades that finished them. Three generations later, that small operation had grown into one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, encompassing chandeliers, pendants, wall lights and outdoor fittings, its design heritage now part of Visual Comfort & Co. Feiss has been represented in the UK and Europe by Elstead Lighting since 2012, who adapt its ranges, English Bridle among them, to 220 to 240V wiring. English Bridle itself draws on the English countryside and the coach lanterns of a traditional stately manor, offered in British Bronze or Black to suit softer or more graphic garden schemes.
