A compact above mirror light with roots in colonial America

The Concord 2 light above mirror bar brings the same Colonial era American design as the rest of the collection into a neat, horizontal fitting. Two goose neck arms are spaced along a single chamfered backplate with a cut corner detail, each ending in its own four sided, opal etched glass shade with bevelled corners. It suits a narrower vanity mirror or a pairing either side of a wider one, casting soft, even light across the space where you shave, apply makeup or get ready in the morning.

Polished chrome finish

Finished in polished chrome, the metalwork has a bright, reflective quality that contrasts nicely with the frosted texture of the etched glass shades. It works equally well in a traditional bathroom with period detailing or a simpler, more contemporary scheme, and pairs naturally with chrome taps, towel rails and mirror fittings already in the room.

How it works

Each of the two arms takes a G9 LED bulb, neither of which is included, so you will need two separately before fitting. It is Class I, meaning it must be properly earthed, so we would always recommend a qualified electrician handles the installation, especially given its bathroom location. The backplate fixes flat to the wall, with each goose neck arm allowing a little adjustment once mounted.

With an IP44 rating, this light is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and outside zone, so it is a genuine option directly above or beside a mirror, not just in a hallway or bedroom. The story behind Feiss

A young Murray Feiss set out to build a lighting business in the South Bronx, New York in 1955, choosing to centre it on imported European porcelain figurines wired into lamp bases, with his mother Rose sewing every shade by hand. What he started went on, across three generations, to become one of America's best known names in decorative lighting, its output eventually running from chandeliers and pendants to wall lights and outdoor fittings. The Feiss design heritage now forms part of Visual Comfort & Co., while in the UK and Europe, Elstead Lighting has represented the brand since 2012, adapting its collections, Concord included, for 220 to 240V electrical systems. Concord itself draws directly on the early Colonial era American styling the brand became known for, here stretched into a two light bar for above the mirror.
