The Faro Lago is a compact wall light built around a single rounded opal glass shade, held out from the wall on a neat square backplate. It is a quiet, uncomplicated shape, the kind of fitting that reads as a soft sphere of light rather than a piece of hardware, which is exactly why it sits so comfortably beside a mirror or along a hallway. The opal glass wraps the lamp completely, so the glow is diffused and even with no harsh hotspot.

The chrome finish

This version pairs the white opal sphere with a shiny chrome backplate and collar. The reflective metal keeps the wall fixing visually light and picks up the tones around it, so in a bathroom it echoes taps, towel rails and mirror frames without competing with them. Against a white or pale wall the chrome almost disappears, leaving the floating glass ball to do the work. If you prefer a warmer or softer metal, Faro offers the Lago in other finishes, but the chrome is the crispest and most contemporary of the family.

How it works

Lago is a wall mounted, hardwired fitting that takes one replaceable G9 capsule bulb, rated by Faro at a maximum of 6W. The bulb is not included, which lets you choose your preferred colour temperature and brightness. It is not a dimmable fitting. The lamp body is chromed aluminium with an opal glass diffuser, and no separate driver is required. Moonlight Design recommends installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.
