A Vintage Inspired Tiffany Glow for Your Side Table
Wellington captures the warmth of antique Tiffany lamps in a smaller, modern table lamp format. The shade is hand pieced from cream glass with amber accents woven into the base pattern, casting a soft, warm, patterned glow rather than bright direct light. It's the kind of lamp that sets an evening mood, whether perched on a bedside table or a living room sideboard.
Choosing Your Finish
Cream and amber is a warm, gentle colour combination that suits traditional, eclectic and even some contemporary interiors. The cream keeps the overall feel light and open, while the amber adds visual richness at the base. There are no other colour options in this design—these two tones are balanced specifically to work together and create the right mood.
How It Works
A single E14 bulb (20W maximum, golf ball type) glows inside the shade, casting light through the hand pieced Tiffany glass. It's wired to Class II electrical standards, which means it doesn't require an earth connection—it's double insulated instead. An inline switch on the cord makes it easy to turn on and off without reaching for the socket. The lamp is dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.
Where It Works Best
This is a table lamp for intimate spaces—a bedside table in a bedroom, a side table next to an armchair, a corner of a hallway, or a dining room sideboard where you want ambient, atmospheric light rather than bright functional illumination. It works in living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways where evening mood matters more than task lighting.
Design Details
The shade is hand crafted from Tiffany glass panels soldered together using traditional methods. Tiffany Glass is specially formulated to hold colour depth while staying translucent, so light passes through warmly. The cream and amber pattern is subtle rather than ornate, keeping the overall aesthetic refined. The iron and resin base is simple and stable, letting the glasswork take centre stage.

Questions People Ask
Is this lamp bright enough for reading in bed?
Not as a primary reading light—the Tiffany glass softens and warms the light, which is lovely for winding down in the evening but not bright enough for actually reading. It's better as mood lighting alongside a bedside task light if reading is important.
Does the inline switch work well?
Yes, it's practical and convenient, especially on a bedside table where you can reach it easily without getting out of bed. There's no foot switch or pull chain to fumble with.
Will this work in a modern interior?
Possibly. Wellington is traditional in character, so it works best in rooms with heritage, eclectic or period decoration. In a minimal modern space it might feel out of place, so think about your room's overall mood first.
