Frosted Glass to Soften the Light
Six frosted glass shades run in a line from a polished chrome frame, each one diffusing light rather than letting it pass straight through. The frosted surface scatters the glow evenly downward without creating hot spots, which means underneath the pendant you get an even, gentle wash of light rather than distinct areas of brightness and shadow. The polished chrome frame stays modern and sharp, contrasting nicely with the soft quality of the frosted glass.
Choosing Your Finish
The polished chrome pairs well with the frosted glass to create a contemporary look that feels refined rather than cold. The frosting on the glass means the light quality is gentle and even, making it a good choice if you want task lighting but not the harsh clarity that clear glass provides. If you prefer a different combination, this same pendant is made across the range with other finishes and glass types.
How It Works
Six G9 bulb positions run the length of the pendant, each rated for up to 10W, and the frosted glass diffuses the light evenly in all directions rather than concentrating it downward. It's wired to Class I electrical standards, requiring an earth connection as part of installation. The IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor spaces, protected from dust but not from water splash or high moisture.
Where It Works Best
The linear arrangement and frosted light quality make this a natural choice for kitchen islands or dining tables where you want bright but gentle illumination. A 105cm span is substantial enough to light a full table length, and the soft glow suits both modern kitchens and more traditionally styled dining rooms. It works equally well in hallways or open plan spaces where you want a row of lights that feels inviting rather than clinical.
Design Details
Frosted glass is purposefully chosen to soften light without reducing brightness, which is why it's often the go to choice for functional spaces where you still want atmosphere. Here it's paired with polished chrome, a finish that catches light and reflects it, creating a dynamic interplay between the reflective frame and the diffusive glass. The combination is clean and contemporary without feeling sterile.

Questions People Ask
Is frosted glass the same as opaque?
No. Frosted glass is translucent, meaning light passes through but is diffused, so you can't see the bulb or the interior of the shade clearly. It's different from opaque glass which blocks light entirely.
Will this light my dining table properly?
Yes. Frosted glass softens the light but doesn't reduce brightness significantly. Six G9 bulbs spread along the length give you good illumination across a dining surface, just with a softer quality than clear glass would provide.
Does this work in a modern kitchen?
The polished chrome frame is definitely contemporary in style, and the frosted glass gives a clean, minimal look. It works well in modern kitchens particularly, though the soft quality of the frosted glass makes it adaptable to other styles too.
