Is this only for kitchens?
While it works brilliantly over a kitchen island, it's equally at home over a dining table anywhere in the house. The linear shape is the useful bit, the gold and cognac glass work in lots of settings.

How wide a space does it cover?
The fitting spans 64cm, so it suits islands or table widths from roughly 60 to 70cm or slightly wider if you want it to sit closer to the edge on both sides.

Will the cognac glass affect how bright it is?
Yes, the warmth comes at the cost of a little brightness, but the 10W G9 bulbs are quite punchy and combined with three of them you'll have plenty of light. If you need more brightness, consider adding wall lighting as well.
