Can I use this in my bathroom?
Yes. The IP54 rating covers bathroom zones 1 and 2, so you can safely mount it above a vanity, either side of a mirror, or on a wall in a bathroom as long as it isn't placed directly inside the shower enclosure.

Is this suitable for damp basements or utility rooms?
Yes, the IP54 rating protects against water spray, so it's fine in any indoor area exposed to moisture as long as it's not under direct water pressure.
