Can I use this in a bathroom?
Yes. The IP54 rating covers bathroom zones 1 and 2, so it's fine fitted either side of a bathroom mirror or above a vanity, as long as it's not mounted directly inside a shower enclosure.

Will it work outdoors in the rain?
Yes, that's what the IP54 rating is designed for. It will cope with rain splashing against it and general outdoor moisture.
