It can be dimmed provided you fit dimmable bulbs and use it with a compatible dimmer switch. It's wired to Class I standard, meaning an earth connection is required as part of the installation. The IP20 rating means it's intended for dry indoor spaces only, not bathrooms or other areas exposed to moisture.
