A street lamp brought down to path height

The Wexford pillar lantern takes the shape of a traditional gas style street lamp and scales it down onto a slim post you can set beside a path, drive or porch step. Its hexagonal glass chamber sits at head height, breaking the bulb's light into a diamond leaded pattern rather than one flat glare, with a pointed finial marking the very top.

Black with a silver edge

The cast metalwork is finished in black, with a brushed silver picked out across the roof mouldings, the finial and the trims framing each glazed panel, so the lantern reads with more depth than a single flat colour from a distance. The stepped, flared foot at the base repeats the same two tone treatment, tying the whole post together from finial to floor.

How It Works

Wexford takes a single E27 LED bulb, which isn't supplied, so you'll need to fit one before it can be used. Choose a dimmable E27 LED and the lantern will work with a compatible dimmer switch, letting you soften the light along a path or lift it higher near a door. As a mains wired outdoor fitting with Class I electrics, it should be earthed and installed by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

At just over a metre tall, Wexford is built to mark a route rather than light a whole garden: either side of a driveway, along a path to the front door, or standing alone by a gate. It's rated IP44, so it's built to cope with rain and general outdoor exposure, and its hexagonal silhouette reads well whether it's placed on its own or repeated in a matching pair.
