The Welland sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down from it, so it works in showers, ensuites and any bathroom where headroom is tight. This polished chrome version pairs a cool, reflective ring with a soft opal glass diffuser, spreading light evenly across the room without any hard edges or visible fixings.

Polished chrome and a ribbed rim

The outer ring is polished chrome with a ribbed, stepped profile rather than a flat edge, so it catches the light along its grooves instead of sitting as a plain disc. Two small fixing screws are set flush into the rim on opposite sides, spaced 15cm apart, with an opal glass diffuser covering the light source beneath. Elstead also makes the Welland in polished brass and aged brass, so the same low profile shape is available in a warmer metal if chrome isn't the finish your bathroom needs.

How it works

Light comes from a 25W integrated LED module built into the fitting rather than a bulb you swap yourself, putting out 2250 lumens of 3000K warm white light. It's a straightforward on and off fitting with no dimming function. Some simple assembly is needed to complete installation, and because it runs on a Class III circuit, we recommend having it fitted by a registered NICEIC electrician.
