The Shirebrook takes a straightforward wall light shape and gives it a sharper, more architectural edge. A square, tapered opal glass shade sits on a stepped chrome bracket, so the light has a slightly art deco air without leaning fully into period styling. It sits close and neat against the wall, which makes it easy to fit either as a single light beside a mirror or as a pair either side of one.

Every metal part on the Shirebrook, from the square wall plate to the stepped fitting under the shade, is finished in a bright polished chrome. It is a finish that coordinates easily with chrome taps, towel rails and mirror frames already in a bathroom. The shade itself is opal glass rather than clear, so the bulb inside is fully diffused and the light reads as a soft, even glow rather than a visible point source.

How It Works

Shirebrook takes a single 3W LED G9 bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one before fitting it. Choose a dimmable G9 bulb if you want it to work on a dimmer switch, since the fitting itself only dims when the bulb does. Some simple assembly is needed to complete installation, and because it is wired directly into the mains, we always recommend a qualified electrician fits it.

Where It Works Best

At 23cm tall, 11cm wide and reaching 13.5cm out from the wall, Shirebrook is compact enough to sit either side of a mirror without crowding it, or to work as a single fitting above a basin. The square lines suit a more contemporary bathroom, though the classic shade shape means it settles into a period property just as easily.
